5:22
Sorry for the delay in posting this as a sequel to my last post on May 22nd. I got home on that particular Friday night and I laid down with Jackson to try and get him to sleep and the verse Galatians 5:22 popped in my head. I thought that was weird since I had woke up at 5:22 that morning...and as I put it together today...it was the 5th month and the 22nd day! Coincidence? I think not. So being that I am the mom of two little ones. I ended up collapsing and waking up at 5:22 Saturday morning. My first reaction was OH NO how did I sleep in here all night? This is not good. Jackson will expect this! Where is Trey? Why didn't he wake me up? Then I realize it is 5:22 AM and God is saying Galatians 5:22 in my Student bible that moved with me to Nashville.
So at this point I go to the bonus room open up the bible to Galatians and read a section on the fruits of the spirit and then I go to the verses and find
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other." Galatians 5:22-26
WOW!!! What a word and what peace filled me. I am not perfect but God doesn't expect me to be. He expects me to be a work in progress seeking him to develop these fruit more and more and to know that I have to be pruned to develop healthy fruit.
He had known the anxiousness and overwhelmed feelings I would have that day and experience some that weekend and he was giving me the verses I needed for those moments. Thank you Jesus for wanting to spend time with me and growing me one more step closer in your word. I love you!
