Our Christmas and New Year
So much has gone on this holiday season. After our trip to Opryland Hotel the next weekend we were going to take the kids to my parents and then attend Trey's office Christmas party, however, Jackson got sick so my parents were gracious enough to come up and stay here with the boys while we went out for the night. It was a great Christmas party and we had a wonderful time out on a date!!! I think the boys were beyond excited to spend time with Nana and PawPaw.
Then the craziness started. First Trey was sick with a sinus infection and then both boys have been sick with an ear infection. I got sick the Monday before Christmas and still haven't gotten back to normal. We have been so out of sorts in this house that we slept right through the dawn of the new year! Let's hope that is not a sign of what is to come in 2009.
So back to the holiday activities. We went down to Florence to see my family on Tuesday before Christmas and stayed through Christmas Eve. It was a good visit other than just feeling under the weather. We had a great time with family. The boys came home with tons of toys and movies.
Christmas Eve we made cookies with Nana and after traveling back home and getting the boys in bed Santa delivered and set up Christmas. The next morning was great. Jackson was in love with his new chair and Scooby-Doo punching bag. Coleman was overwhelmed with all his toys. He didn't know what to play with first. I think his favorite gift was a little toy that has balls that pop around inside. He seems to play with it most.
We spent Christmas afternoon with Trey's family and it was a good Christmas lunch and a very good time had by all. We all got more than we deserved and Jackson had a blast playing with his VegiTales Pirate ship and his new Jeep. We came home Christmas night with two worn out little boys.
The week after Christmas was not what we had anticipated at all. Coleman got sick with an ear infection and I think Trey and I both still weren't feeling up to par. I think I was in bed every night by 8. New years eve night I woke up at 12:25 and rolled over and told Trey Happy New year! We just laughed at how things change. Who would have ever thought that we would sleep right through the beginning of the new year! Oh well, just the season we are in.
We thought Saturday night after leaving Chic-fil-a that everything was getting back to normal......we were wrong. On the way home Jackson threw up and has been sick ever since. Then Trey decides to run up to Walgreen's to get some pedialyte and other necessities for Jackson and his car won't start. We finally got it started yesterday and got it to the mechanic. My parents were able to bring us an extra car till we can get Trey's fixed. So that brings us today....
Coleman is at daycare, Jackson and I are headed to the doctor and Trey is at work. Almost back to normal.
