What an awesome weekend and other ramblings
First off let me just say Praise God that Gustav was not worse than it was and the levees did not break in New Orleans again. On that same note....Michael Moore and the Senator that made the comment about God being on their side because a natural disaster was about to occur and McCain chose not to focus on the RNC. Please! How Tacky! Nuff Said!
On to the weekend, we had the best weekend we have had in a long time. Trey and I got to spend two whole days together just enjoying our family! How good is God. It was a great preview of what weekends will be like starting after Thursday. Trey will be turning in his notice at the Sheriff's office today and will be a full time comprehensive financial planner. I could not be more excited after 4 years of school and work and the last 9 months being the hardest with less than 30 hours together a week. Praise God!!!!
We spent Sunday at a family reunion and had a great time seeing family and introducing Trey to some extended family he had not met. It was also great to see our little senator Jackson running around being his sweet social self! Trey thinks it would be funny to teach Jackson to say " Hi I am Jackson and I am running for office." We are calling him a little senator because he never meets a stranger and is always friendly and interactive with everyone. It is very endearing and it has made me much more aware of how I come across to people. Never thought I would be learning how to improve myself and my ways from my toddler! Great Lesson!
Yesterday was spent just hanging out at the house and enjoying the day. Mim, (the boys adopted grandmother) came over and picked up Jackson to take him to spend the night with her and Pop. I am sure he is having a blast. So we took the afternoon after he left to go and shop for birthday party supplies and birthday gifts. I think he will be so excited Saturday. I will post later about all the party plans. After our little shopping trip we came home and grilled dinner and hung out with Coleman. I think he totally enjoyed having mom and dad to himself!
Now on to another and final highlight of the weekend.....ROLL TIDE!!!!!! We beat Clemson and boy did we look good! Great game Bama!!!! Hope this is just a preview of an awesome season! Also another great game happened last night. Tennessee got beat by UCLA! In all fairness Tennessee should have come out and really put a beating on UCLA but they didn't and it was great to see Craft, 3rd string QB come back in the 2nd half and play some awesome football and beat Tennessee. ( We don't say UT in our house when we discuss Tennessee because Trey is a UT Texas fan and we don't want to curse Texas. LOL!!!) One last football comment....Norm Chow is awesome and it goes to show that he was not the problem with the TN Titans! Yet again Nuff Said.
Well I hope everyone had an awesome weekend and if you were down on the coast I hope you and your family were safe.
God Bless,
Jennifer
